On-going . . .

Thursday Night at the Movies

Join us on the first Thursday of each month as we explore Christian themes in popular movies. Our “Pastors’ Hall movie club” is open to anyone who wishes to join us at any time. Many people bring lawn chairs to help make the watching more enjoyable, along with their own suppers. Popcorn is always provided. We watch, and then share reflections together. Feel free to suggest movies you think the group would enjoy because watching them has left a lasting impact on you.

Brown Bag and Bible Study (BB&B), led by Pastor Nancy Morris, meets Thursdays from 12:00noon to 1:15pm. You are welcome to bring your lunch or a snack to enjoy during the discussion.

to the web site of Seneca Presbyterian Church. We are glad you found us – or at least this taste of who we are and what we are seeking to do for the Kingdom of God in our corner of the world. On Sunday mornings, you will find us in our house of worship at the corner of South Oak and West South First St. Come join us! Often during the week you will find us studying or eating or laughing together.

Come join us! But you will also find us serving God and this community through the Oconee Presbyterian Service Fund or Our Daily Bread or Our Daily Rest or the Golden Corners Food Bank or Habitat for Humanity – anywhere we can put our faith into action.

We believe that the love of God is real and can be experienced – when we worship together, when we learn together, and when we serve together. We believe that God calls us to a life that is abundantly blessed – in mercy and compassion and joy. How do we know all this? Because we believe God showed us that abundant way in the life, death, and resurrection of God’s Son Jesus. We seek to follow him in all that we do. We invite you to join us!

  • Holy Week - April 14-18
Posted by Seneca Prez Office March 31

The Holy Week provides opportunities for worship at Seneca Presbyterian and on Monday – Friday evenings at 7p.m. at our sister congregations in Oconee County.

April 14 @ Walhalla / West Union Presbyterian, Preacher - Ryan Wilson,

April 15 @ Richland Presbyterian, Preacher - Nancy Morris

April 16 @ Seneca Presbyterian, Preacher - Audrey Reese

April 17 @ Bethel Presbyterian, Preacher - Frank Strickland

April 18 @ Westminster Presbyterian, Preacher - Ernie Gray

Christian tradition refers to Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday as the Triduum – a holy period of three days set aside for prayer and fasting.

We will worship on Maundy Thursday evening at Bethel Presbyterian.

Then you have an opportunity to keep prayer vigil from 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening to 9:00 a.m. on Friday morning in our sanctuary, at Seneca Presbyterian Church. This traditional vigil remembers the one kept by Jesus and his disciples in the garden. Unlike those disciples, we intend to “keep awake” and hold in prayer those dear to us and the world God so dearly loves and is on His way to redeeming yet again. Please contact us to help us fill these hours with your presence and your prayers.

Good Friday worship will take us to Westminster Presbyterian.

  • Easter Sunday - April 20
Posted by Seneca Prez Office March 31

We will begin our celebration of the resurrection with our traditional sunrise service, time yet to be determined, since we want to coincide with the sun. We will then enjoy our traditional Easter morning breakfast followed by our two services of worship at 9:00 and 11:00.   May God bless us in this most holy of seasons!

  • Want to learn more or become a member?

We’d Love to Have You Join Us

Seneca Presbyterian Church would like to extend an invitation to all who are interested in becoming members or who just want to learn more about our church.  We will be hosting a series of gatherings on three consecutive Sundays beginning March 23 , March 30 and continuing April 6.  Each meeting will start at 10 am.  We will share some refreshments, learn about each other, hear more about life at SPC, ask questions, get invited to “sample” some opportunities, and make some new friends. Those who choose to join will be received as new members at a luncheon on April 6.

These classes are not a hurdle to be jumped or a prerequisite for joining SPC.  They are offered as hospitality to those who are interested in learning more about us.

The welcome mat is out and the light is on.  Please call the church office at 882-2505 if this sounds like something you would like to do.  If you would like more information or have questions, please call Becky Drew 888-3409 or Jan Crismore 882-5014.
