WELCOMESeneca Presbyterian Church 4th of July celebration

When you walk into the doors of Seneca Presbyterian Church, you will be welcomed by a congregation of truly amazing people. At Seneca Presbyterian Church, we choose to make ministries of care and compassion the focal point of our life together. That means caring for each other through all the challenges life can throw at us. It means being there to help meet a need - whether it is a ride or a prayer. It also means caring for our community and those in need around us. Seneca Presbyterian Church people live out their faith in generous giving of their time, their resources, and their hearts.  See some of our community involvement here.

The idea didn't start with us. Jesus taught us that the heart of faith is the love of God and the love of neighbor. He said it this way: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

Are we perfect? Not at all. But as Presbyterian Christians, we believe the grace of God is meant to change us, bit by bit. Grace gives us the vision and the power to be partners with God in the re-creation of the world. Such a high calling requires faith that is nurtured in community with others as we explore the meaning of discipleship through spiritual formation and then practice that discipleship through worship.

We invite you to join us soon and put our claim of hospitality to the test!

HEALTH AND WELLNESS DAY

Please join us on May 15th for the first Health and Wellness Day at SPC from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We have lots of great events that should interest everyone in some way.

First of all, we have the Blood Connection on site for blood and platelet donations. Please consider this as someone, in the U.S., needs blood every two seconds. Oconee County and Upstate SC are no exception. A blood donation can save 3 lives.

The mobile mammogram unit from St. Francis in Greenville will also be on site with state-of-the-art equipment. The unit is equipped with a GE Senographe Essential Full Field Digital Mammography Unit. The Mobile Mammography Coach is an extension of the Pearlie Harris Center for Breast Health, which is accredited by the American College of Radiology as a “Breast Imaging Center of Excellence”. Each staff member is registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and the SC Radiation Quality Standards Association. The St. Francis Mobile Mammography Coach will provide screening mammograms to women throughout the community.

Additional opportunities are an introduction to CPR taught by Sandy Alford and a “What to Watch For/Recognize and What to Do First If…” First Aid course taught by Ernie, our Parish Nurse. Space is limited, so please sign up for either or both of these courses. Both courses are refreshers and have valuable information. You may also register by calling the church office at 882-2505.

Last, but certainly not least, we will be offering blood pressure checks and great fitness tips.

We are hoping for a great turn-out and lots of participation. This is a wonderful opportunity to help our community and our congregation! Questions? Just ask anyone on the Outreach Committee or the Health & Wellness Team. We would love to answer your questions! All classes are in the Archie Barron Hall.
