Through the world-wide reach of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Seneca Presbyterian has the opportunity to impact lives around the world. For many years, we were among the supporting congregations for the work of Dr. Barbara Nagy in Malawi. She is pictured here with her family of adopted daughters.
When Dr. Nagy's time of service in Malawi was complete, we chose to support a husband/wife team of physicians in Bangladesh. (In order to safeguard their security, we cannot post their names on a web-site.) We receive a weekly "Prayer for Bangladesh" from them via email that is included in the bulletin each Sunday.

A Prayer for Bangladesh
19 June 2017
O God of compassion, we pray for Hurjahan, a Muslim grandmother in rural northwestern Bangladesh, whose daughter died of leukemia three weeks ago, leaving a school-age son. Now, in the midst of grief, Hurjahan has suffered a flare-up of her longstanding rheumatoid arthritis, which has left her weak and with a gnawing pain in her left hip. Lord, in your mercy, comfort this woman in her loss and relieve her mental, physical and spiritual anguish, that she may in turn comfort and care for her grieving grandson. We pray in the name of the One who knows the world’s suffering and gave his life for its healing. Amen.
