Seneca Presbyterian established a memorial garden for the internment of ashes in 1995. It was created through a gift from the Earl Peters family along with gifts made to the Earl Peters memorial fund. The garden is located on South First Street adjacent to the steps leading into the church building. Ashes are placed directly into the earth. All names are recorded on the Memorial Garden plaque located in the hallway by the church office and on exterior plaques located in the garden.
This garden represents a sacred trust and is a vital ministry of Seneca Presbyterian. Funds received for the interment of ashes are used to maintain and enhance the beauty of this space. While the vast majority of persons whose cremains are interred in the garden were members of Seneca Presbyterian, membership is not a prerequisite for this ministry.
